It’s sequencing your effort the way a culture grows: slow and invisible at first, then rapid, then peak, then a controlled wind-down.

Ninety days is enough time to do this properly if the time is structured, and not nearly enough time if it’s spent reactively — reading a chapter here, solving a random question set there, with no sense of which subjects actually decide your score. Before you commit to any plan, including this one, it helps to understand roughly how the exam itself is weighted, because that should shape how much time each subject gets.

How to structure each practice session

Not all MCQ practice is equal. A session where you passively click through questions and glance at the answer key barely moves the needle.

A more effective structure looks like this: attempt a block of 25–30 questions without stopping, mark your confidence level on each (sure / unsure / guessed), then grade the whole block at once.

Anything marked “unsure” or “guessed” — correct or not — goes straight into your error log for review within the next two days. This forces honest self-assessment instead of letting a lucky guess mask a real gap.

Rotate subjects across the week rather than grinding one subject for days at a stretch.   • One full-length mock test every 2–3 days, under strict timed conditions
  • Review every mock thoroughly — identify which subject and topic type cost the most marks, not just the score
  • Rotate CMLT-level and BMLT-level mock sets depending on your target exam
  • Track your score trend — expect a steady upward curve by day 75–80. If it’s flat, that’s a signal to revisit foundational gaps, not push more mocks

By the end of this phase, you should comfortably finish mock tests with 10–15% time left for review.

Resist the urge to take a mock test every single day. Is 90 days really enough time?

For most candidates with some existing lab science background, yes — provided the time is phased rather than spent reactively. If you’re starting from a much weaker base, consider stretching the foundation phase by an extra 2–3 weeks rather than compressing the practice or mock phases, since those are what actually build exam-day speed.

What if I fall behind schedule?

Don’t try to “catch up” by cramming multiple days of material into one sitting. Instead, compress the least exam-relevant subtopics within a subject and protect the high-yield topics identified in your day 1–2 syllabus review. A slightly shorter foundation phase with strong recall beats a complete one with shallow recall.

Should I study CMLT and BMLT topics together?

The core science overlaps heavily, so foundation-phase study can stay combined.
